Ace Blakley in POSE Magazine

I had the opportunity to do a spread in POSE Magazine and the end result was AWESOME!!!!

tavyday and Limarie Lewis came to me with an idea to submit an editorial to POSE Magazine a week before submissions were due…hmmmm, but if you know anything about this team you know we work best under pressure anyway… We had Zakiyah (Photo Salon 4 U) on the camera, Nijah (Hair Freak) on the combs and grease and Shannon on the brushes. We tore it down!!! Don’t mind me…I get silly when I’m tired and right now I’m beat!

Any who… check out our spread in the last issue of POSE Magazine! Sneak peek and behind the scenes images are below.

Special THANK YOU to Tiffany “Tip” Jones

PHILADELPHIA-October 13, 2013- ChaCha N’Kole in collaboration with DesignPhiladelphia announces C.U.R.V.V., An Exhibit Curated by ChaCha N’Kole

C.U.R.V.V. (Creations.Ultimately.Redefining.Views of.Voluptuous women)

ChaCha N’Kole and DesignPhiladelphia has joined together to bring to you the first ever museum exhibition to highlight full-figured high-fashion as well as an original fashion short film produced jointly by ChaCha N’Kole and TsiTsi P. Productions. The event will be held at the University of Penn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, 3260 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, Sunday October 13, 2013 at 6pm.

This exhibit will consist of 12 handmade gowns, designed and constructed by ChaCha N’Kole, inspired by the art work currently on display at the University of Penn Museum. The collection will focus mainly on the Egyptian sector of the museum which was assembled through nearly a century of archaeological research. Students and seasoned designers will have the opportunity to display one garment that best represents an assigned section of the exhibits surrounding the Upper Egyptian Gallery. These pieces will be judged on accuracy of incorporated historic reference, creativity, technique and execution. Fashion and Art History instructors from The University of Pennsylvania, Moore College of Art & Design and the Art Institute of Philadelphia will be invited to critique each submission piece.

The subsequent short film, also entitled "C.U.R.V.V.", is an independent film written and directed by ChaCha N'Kole and TsiTsi P. Productions. This fictional story takes place in the city and shows an aspiring plus-size model's struggle to suppress insecurities while pursuing her lifelong dream to slay the runway. She constantly studies her craft, but is too afraid of what people may think to pursue it. That all changes once she finds a mentor that shows her that she has more than enough beauty and talent to make it in the fashion industry. It's a very moving, witty and entertaining piece sure to evoke emotion in all viewers.

The night will begin when guests are guided through the lit Warden Garden and up the imperial staircase that leads to the featured exhibit. The historic and architectural beauty of the interior will capture the hearts of all those who attend. After guests browse each piece from the collection with their own personal tour guide they will be escorted to the theater for the first ever viewing of the independent short film “C.U.R.V.V.”.

Our goal is to encourage fashion designers to study and utilize historical reference to inspire future collections or works of art. We would like to show the Philadelphia fashion community a different way of displaying and interpreting fashion. With the short film we are promoting positive self-perception, hard work and determination.

We hope you join us for this night of culture, innovation and imagination.

Bria Marie Rocks Ace Blakley and Dope Music In Her Video???

In Bria Marie's new video "Bye Boy" (www.briamarie.com) she looks super cute, but was there any question that she wouldn't? She was styled by April "The Stylist" Duuuuh!!! LOL... No, but seriously... With her soft yet street style Bria Marie is sure to captivate the heart of young boys everywhere and become a role model to a lot of young girls. This song shows girls that they don't have to settle for just any guy and when a guy comes incorrect just put your hand up and say "BYE BOY" lol. This song is so catchy #SummerHit

Not only was April the wardrobe stylist for this project, but also the hairstylist and jewelry designer, www.irockdopemusic.com (So talented). Did I mention that the choreographer for the video is the love of my life, Bizzy Linder http://www.youtube.com/user/BizzyVisions, who did a great job AS ALWAYS!

NEW FOUND LOVE FOR HEAD WRAPS...

Hey ChaCha Dollz!!!

I hope you all had a super wonderful weekend :)

I just wanted to tell you about my new found love... for HEAD WRAPS!!! I never really cared too much for scarves, bows, hats or head wraps, but over the weekend I had a photo shoot and was playing around with a piece of fabric one of the models brought with her and I made me the cutest turban. I know it's probably extra old to everyone else, but I think I just found my new "thing"... After cutting off my hair there's not much I can do to spice up my look besides the obvious (I dye it every two weeks). I think this may be the perfect solution. See collage below...

Besides the knot being SUPER BIG let me know what you think :)

Also... Everyone has been asking me about these super sexy glasses. I "borrowed" them from Sonny TheHost lol, but you can get yours from Stylish Eye...These are called  #MX13 stylisheye@gmail.com
